Dr. Jennifer Lynn Kelly Phd.
Jennifer Lynn Kelly (Ph.D. in American Studies with aPortfolio in Women’s and Gender Studies, University of Texas at Austin, 2015)is a 2017-2018 Chancellor's Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Departmentof Asian American Studies at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Herresearch broadly engages questions of settler colonialism, U.S. empire, and thefraught politics of both tourism and solidarity. She is currently completingthe manuscript for her first book, Fragmented Narration: Solidarity Tourism inOccupied Palestine, a multi-sited ethnographic study of solidarity tourism inPalestine that draws from research she completed as a 2012-2013 PalestinianAmerican Research Center Fellow. In her project, she analyzes the ways in whichsolidarity tourism has emerged in Palestine as an organizing strategy that isboth embedded in and working against histories of sustained displacement.
